COUNCIL COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
PURPOSE: To provide coordination and administrative support to Community Food Matters by acting neutrally for the benefit of the council as a whole so that the council can function with the highest levels of collaboration, transparency, and fluidity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate basic council functions: - Schedule monthly meetings, assemble agendas with council member input, and facilitate meetings - Conduct and/or delegate outreach via social media, monthly newsletter - Maintain the member lists for each membership tier of the council and facilitate the onboarding of new members as outlined in the Structure and Operations Overview document - Manage the food council email address and answer inquiries or delegate to council members as appropriate - Serve in an advisory capacity to the coordinating committee on council business (NOTE: Coordinator does not vote)
Facilitate the documentation and organization of council business: - Maintain council digital archives (Google account) and ensure appropriate transparency and communication of archive - Maintain the council website with support from council members as needed - Maintain the Structure and Operations Overview document as the council grows and evolves
Additional administrative support, if requested by the coordinating committee - Assist in grant applications, tracking, and reporting in coordination with the fiscal sponsor - Assist in budget development and management - Help to facilitate strategic planning sessions - Additional support that is within the capacity of the coordinator and needed by the council and agreed upon by both parties
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work within a diverse network of organizations and individuals
Commitment to community driven mission of council
Familiarity with western foothills foodshed is a plus
REPORTS TO: Coordinating Committee LOCATION: Virtual administrative work with ability to attend in person meetings in Norway and events in surrounding area (NOTE: in person meetings and events will be scheduled as able in accordance with current public health guidelines. Current meetings are hybrid in person and via ZOOM; current events are outdoors.) HOURS & COMPENSATION: Part time- 5 hours/week at $20/hour Note: May be more hours if committee requests additional support and coordinator can accommodate. Additional funding would be sought.
